Hi Kevin - I know I should have started googling recovery resources, but unfortunately I seemed to have reformatted and assumed it was all lost...so data written over. But I know better for next time.

thanks aka :-)

I think every now and then one needs a serious lapse in judgment on things like this to burn lessons into my mind. Some people survive without these lessons, but apparently I needed this...

the alien computer was at my older sister's house. she swears the house has a dislike for computer things since her laptops suffer strange and untimely disasters. I should have kept that in mind!

That flow photo - good DOF. Very nice.

Bad, bad, and more bad but what I wanted to say was I told you so but more appropriately, how could you :)

I don't ever stick my memory card anywhere except my own machine. I am not a trusting person and don't even like everybody I trust. Haiti? Sad.

Smashing the alien computer may not bring back your images but it is worth a try. I still have recent (August and September) photos of Arizona and Colorado to post. If I could only find the time. I will now proceed to find the time to download images from memory card to friendly and known auto-backed-up HD. Thanks for the reminder.

p.s I think there is software that attempts to recover memory card data.
