Help – Trini Cuisine in Brampton?

Hello folks. I know I have readers in Canada. I am in Brampton right now…I haven’t been in Canada since 1996 and I am here only for a few days for a wedding. I have a couple American friends, attending the same wedding, who haven’t had dhalpouri or doubles while in Edinburgh. So, since we’re here, where roti places (Trini and Guyanese) abound, it has only now occurred to me that I should have sought recommendations before this! However, such is my planning, or lack thereof sometimes that I find myself here, appealing to my readers, even those who’ve been lurkers (I promise I won’t hold it against you!)

So, anyone more familiar with Brampton than I, please leave your suggestions in the comments, or email me :-D I particularly would like to go somewhere with good doubles.

And I’ll be sure to take pictures and review the place for those who also want to know!

  3. Cranky – heading downtown on Sunday, which I remember vaguely from when I lived there almost 12 years ago. But did most of my roti eating in Mississuaga. We ended up at Alima’s actually, since I remembered it and it was easy to get to.

  5. Couple of restraunts in Toronto to check out, if your still around:

    Waterfalls (indian tappas, get the mussels in the madras curry cream sauce)
    Salad King (Thai)

  6. Drupati’s is the place it’s not in Brampton but Islington and Albion are Toronto ..best doubles in Toronto 925 ALBION RD

  7. i can tell you that u can give your taste buds a hell of a party at Drupati’s, they have 2 locations now, for all the curry, doubles etc go to the one on albion rd. in rexdale not far from brampton 416-745-4189 and if you feel for really good guyanese chinese food they recently opened one in brampton specializing in chinese and they are set for fine dining so its a nice place to visit if you want to dine in.
