More than a week ago, Ewe gave me a Nice Matters Award and said some blush-inducing things about me
Yay. My first little blogging button to display. Isn’t it pretty? This is a good award to be the first, because I do believe Nice Matters. Being nice to people doesn’t take that much effort and it can help, just a little, to make living in this world much easier. And on a personal level, being nice can make you more friends
and is a lot less stressful than getting annoyed with every little thing. That being said, I know that there may be times that I can be a bit snarky, or impatient, or maybe quick to judge. But I still believe in niceness! So thank you very much Ewe, it is greatly appreciated, particularly from a good friend who knows me and has been a very good friend in return and I love seeing her be Mommy to the 2 boys who are going to outgrow her any day now
Wonder if she still has those red pjs she was wearing the first time I met her. First person I met in our kitchen in Edinburgh actually.
I believe I am supposed to pass this on, but I can’t return it (although Ewe can take this as my reciprocating the award!) and I think I will take this opportunity to bestow it upon all my lurking regulars
who have been kind and nice enough to visit often, yet perhaps are too polite to speak up. I know I have regulars though and if you ever want to delurk, please feel welcome. I am a nice person – see the award? Maybe if you have a request or a remembered family food tradition (whether similar to mine or not) it would give me the motivation to post some more. So, all visitors, welcome to a nice place to comment
I do have a couple posts in mind (and still the 6 in draft) but I am currently moving flats in Guyana. I am almost completely moved, but my internet isn’t transferred yet and I have been going to work every day and trying to move in the evenings. Thank goodness for nice landlords who let me take my time to move out. And who had some Le Creuset pots, so I got to experience those for the first time (albeit a bit banged up by previous tenants). And more counter space than I have now. But I just have to be creative. And I have a much much better stove/oven. And a front porch with an ocean view. (Atlantic Ocean, but near the Demerara River delta so it’s brown…but ocean breeze). I think I can see good things here that may be blogged.
Stay tuned…
