Travel and Posting Status

By my count I have about 6 draft posts. All needing just a little something to finish up and publish. But my multi-stage return to Guyana and now my current hop-hop-hop resumption of regular work is holding me up a bit. Never fear. I shall post again. Soon. I hope. From airports most likely. Sitting in my 2nd airport for the day, en route to Jamaica. Caribbean Airlines staff ridiculously perky at 5:30 a.m. but then they were handing out survey forms. Hmmm. But they did leave Guyana 15 minutes early. And now I wait to board the flight I like to call the maxi-taxi of Caribbean Airlines routes.

Hop. Hop. Hop.

  1. Who doesn’t have a bunch of posts lined up, Chennette? I usually keep a similar amount even when I’m not very busy. If only life was simple enough that we could all sit there at our computers and write what was on our mind at that exact moment. Bollocks to the purists!

    Also happy travels!

  3. 5am – that’s really rough. I miss your posts, need to keep up with our globe-trotting friend. The other Aberdonian asked me to tell you that his daughter has gone to the dark side…she ate his baked beans and sausages. A double betrayal by her, cos she had the baked beans on toast (what kind of trini is she, says her Aunty Chennette) and lets just say that the sausages weren’t halal.

Im my defence, I was in the kitchen when this all took place, and I was making her raisin and banana oats for her breakfast. Ok, sada roti or bake it wasn’t, and oats are hardly a common trini breakfast, but give a tired mummy a break… I’m making sweet bread again today though.

  7. Trig I figured this was the only way to ensure regular posting, and it was working for while…
Hmmm You know it’s not the beans on toast, it’s the beans on toast, eggs AND sausage that I made fun of :-) Your daughter should be just fine. Unless she’s started the Scottish accent!
TriniGourmet I don’t think I’ll ever reach your prolificness ;-)
Cynthia Hey – I manage to make it to your blog, even if I don’t comment!
    Ewe - yes…bad bloggers we are…;-)

  8. Her accent is currently ALL ME – that is, South Trini – its refreshing to hear a trini accent regularly…smile.

Except that her no’s, have progressed to, “No, I DON’T” – whether or not don’t fits the particular situation.

By the way, “yesh” sounds so much sweeter than “no”

  9. The niece wil say “No” progress rapidly to “no, no, no, no, no, no…” shaking her head in case we don’t understand. And I won’t get into accent in public fora ;-)

  10. hey you made me laugh, amidst news that the in-laws are coming up for the summer. Our long awaited ‘summer’, the anticipation of which made the cold winter bearable.

But hey you know what ‘summer’ in scotland is like, so we won’t be packing away the heavy coats…

  12. Hmmmm – I miss Scotland save for the weather. The only thing Cambridge beats Edinburgh on hands down…generally.

  13. I suspect my boys’ accents will be a strange blend… seeing as they’re each half-American, a quarter-Scottish, and a quarter-Norwegian… They hear all kinds of strange things at home!
    :-)
