For anyone who was following the whole Nikon/Canon debate and the agony that Lilandra and I still had to endure, even after we finally settled on the D50/D80…the first order not going through in the US, the D50 that had to be returned to Cave Shepherd and the wutless tourist out there who bought my D80 and took it away from Cave Shepherd…
Both Lilandra and I now have our cameras en route to us. Separately of course, because we like complicated arrangements. And because we still haven’t taken a joint shopping-getaway vacation where we could walk into a store and pick one up. The one that my dearest younger sister has in hindsight designated as mine, is currently on a plane with the cousin somewhere over the Caribbean Sea, due to land in about 30 minutes. It was ordered for her to courier it, and back then it was Lilandra’s. Chennette didn’t have any arrangements to get her just yet. But then another avenue, another courier rose to notice and so we ordered. And because the ordering was done by Lilandra (there are times when one must be grateful that as Muslims we don’t deal in interest, otherwise, I’d probably owe my soul to the younger sister by now) shehas decided that THIS 2nd camera, which was to be mine, is HERS. Or at least the lens. She wanted that lens that came with it.
Sigh.
So what does this mean? It means that, because my sister and I are complicated. When the cousin arrives, she will give the camera to Lilandra. Lilandra will take possession of it, although the LENS is designated to be mine, and she will use it. Until such time as I come into possession of the 2nd camera and bring it to her, where we exchange lenses.
But all that is neither here nor there. For we now are the proud owners of 2 Nikon D80s. One with the 18-55mm lens, and one with 18-135mm lens. We are just not the actual possessors just yet.
